SMS & messaging policy
Groom & Board is a booking tool for independent barbers, stylists, locticians, and nail techs. Text messages are sent on behalf of the professional you booked with, so you only ever hear from a business you chose to book.
How we collect consent
Consent is collected on the professional's booking page. When a client books an appointment, they may tick an optional checkbox — it is unchecked by default, and booking works whether or not it is ticked. Consent is never a condition of purchase. We record the date, time, and source of every opt-in.

What we send
- Appointment confirmations and reminders for a booking you made.
- A note when you're due for your next visit, based on how often you normally come in.
- Replies from the professional when you text them back.
Message frequency varies — typically about 1–4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.
You're booked with Marcus at Lower East Hair Co. — Sat May 16, 2:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.
Hey Jordan, it's been about 6 weeks since your last taper. Want me to grab you a spot this week?
Opting out or getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You'll get one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for assistance. You can also ask your barber or stylist directly and they can remove your number.
Your information
Phone numbers are used only to send the messages described above on behalf of the professional you booked with. We do not sell your information, and mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Numbers are shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts.
